Sip a Margarita This Weekend at Casa Oaxaca

Located on Fairmont Avenue in the Woodmont Triangle, Casa Oaxaca has made a strong first impression on Bethesda residents since opening its doors in May. Specializing in southern Mexican food with an emphasis on corn, black beans, mole sauce, and cheese, this new hotspot is upping the ante on authentic Mexican fare in the area. Nearly everything on the menu has drawn praise from area locals, from the consistency of the kitchen’s house-made guacamole, to the spices in the pozole, and the strength of the margaritas.

The space itself is impressive as well, with a clean and casually appointed dining room, a lively bar area, and an appealing (and dog friendly) patio space. If you’re thinking of making your first visit, happy hour isn’t a bad way to get a feel for the place. Specialty cocktails are $8, beers are $4.50, and you can get carnitas, barbacoa, or pastor tacos for just $3 a pop.
