Mark Your Calendars for the Montgomery County Thanksgiving Parade on Nov. 23

Kick off the holiday season with the annual Montgomery County Thanksgiving Parade, Saturday, November 23 in downtown Silver Springs There will be plenty for revelers of all ages to see, from giant characters and balloons, to floats, marching bands, dancing groups, and more. And what would a holiday kick-off be without a quick visit from Santa to remind the little ones to be on their best behavior? The Montgomery County Thanksgiving Parade is a free event, and starts at 10 a.m. along Ellsworth Drive and Fenton Street. Check out the parade route online to pick out your spot, or tune into the live televised edition on News Channel 8. If you decide to attend, be sure to stop over to Veterans Plaza to take a family photo with inflatables or seasonal decor — you might even be able to knock out the picture for your holiday card with one trip to the parade! 

No registration or ticket is needed for this event. Just scope out the route, bring your folding chair, and get ready to start the holiday season with a fun annual event.
