For some, Thanksgiving is a day of relaxation and feasting. For others, it’s a day devoted to charitable service. This year, you can combine both approaches at Bethesda’s popular Turkey Chase on November 28. Organizers expect more than 10,000 runners to gather for this popular (and competitive) 10K race, which starts at the YMCA Bethesda-Chevy Chase. 10K seem a little too far? No problem. Try the shorter 2-mile route, or go for the 1-mile challenge run. Looking for something even more laid back? Gather the whole family and participate in the tot trot. 

Whatever you choose, keep in mind that the Turkey Chase is about much more than just the race itself. Proceeds from the race go to benefit the YMCA, and on race day the Y will be offering a variety of activities to get children and families interested in wellness, health, and community-building.
